Robert W. Demes is an Economist by education and former Managing Partner of Monterey Development, which was responsible for the design and build out of Rancho Monterey and Monterey del mar Costa Rica’s Premiere Natural Communities. He was also a cofounder of Monterey Del Pacifico (”Del Pacifico”) a similar sized project in the same area. He has 15 years of experience in the field of Banking and Trust Services, specializing in Business Relocation and development. He has assisted hundreds of companies in remaining competitive in the world markets through assertive leadership, aggressive marketing and key political, business and banking contacts.
1976 - 1986 President of DiMirra Development Central, Florida
Founder and President of DiMirra Development, Inc., a Florida development and construction company which designed, built and managed 50 Million dollars worth of commercial and residential development in the early ‘80’s.
1986 – 1994 President of Interbank Capital Investments San Jose. Costa Rica
Founder and President of ICI, SA with offices in Costa Rica, Panama and Switzerland.
A Premiere provider of Trust and Concierge Services to the International Business Community. Built the company to over a 60 million in assets and sold to a private concern.
1991 – 1994 Government service
Served with distinction as Counsel from Costa Rica to Miami during the years 1991 and 1992 and Raleigh-Durham, North Carolina during the years 1993 and 1994.
1996 – 1998 COO and Director of Dynasil Corporation Berlin, New Jersey
Headed an Investment Group which bought control of the company in August ’96. Assumed the position of director and chief operating officer until 1998; during this time the stock went from $0.50 to $6.00 the shares split twice in one year and it went back $6.00 within the following year. The investment group was bought out by a Philadelphia Financial Services Firm at a premium.
1998 -2003 Founder and Managing Partner of Rancho Monterey and Affiliates, Costa Rica
Headed investment group that purchased 2,500 acres of beachfront property on the Pacific coast of Costa Rica. Developed the master plan with renowned architect and planner Zurcher and completed 5 miles of roads and utility infrastructure. Responsible for design and build out of a convention center, two boutique hotels, condominium projects and single family residences. Sold shares in 2003 to pursue personal interests and private investing.
January 2006 Micro Venture Capital Corporation, Las Vegas Nevada
Coaxed out of retirement by former partners, founded MVCC a small venture capital firm which injects company capital and management know how into small public companies. September of 2006 assumed the position of COO at Bedford Energy a small oil and gas firm in Oklahoma which the company helped finance. Left the Bedford Energy in 2007 to mount a new venture in Latin American Real Estate.
